Summer 1 Week 3
This week we have been writing the middle of our narrative story and have been focusing on how to correctly use dialogue in a story. We have been focusing on weaving this into our description whilst also writing about action! We have also been enjoying learning more about decimals and in particular, dividing numbers by 10. We discovered that when dividing by 10, the numbers shift one place to the right on our place value columns!
In Science, we have been exploring how sound is made and were very interested in learning all about sound waves, vibrations and molecules. We also went onto discussing how this is used in sonar! We created wonderful science posters to explain our understanding.
This week we have also loved our music sessions, PE and getting ready for our Folk Festival trip by practising our folk festival dances.
Star of the week:
This week we didn't have a star of the week due to the assembly being Year 2's class assembly.
Things to remember:
- Please bring in water bottles and reading books each day to school.
- Next week (Friday) is our very last swimming lesson.
- Home learning was sent home today in bags (on a slip of paper). The children have been reminded that this is part of their learning and needs to be done.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Reed x
