Spring Term 1

A term of fun and dance!

By Brook Valley Dance Festival:

This term our whole school took part in our very own Dance Festival! We all chose a different style of dance and showcased it to the whole school at the end of term. We had a wonderful time celebrating the enjoyment of moving and being part of a team/community.
The styles of dance that we created were:

Reception- contemporary leaves dance

Year 1- Under the sea dance

Year 2- Line dancing to Achey Breaky heart

Year 3 and 4- African dancing

Year 5- Cheerleading to Green Green Grass

Year 6- Hip Hop to Rather Be- Jess Glynne

Sports Leaders: Lunchtime clubs

This term our sports leaders have been working hard to ensure that sport and movement is enjoyed at By Brook. The sports leaders came up with the idea of running lunchtime clubs for KS1 children. One group created a KS1 Dance lunchtime club and the other created a multi-skills lunch club. They have been running these this term and they have been a great success! Well done Sports Leaders!

Yoga: KS1

This term in Yoga KS1 and Reception have enjoyed their sessions with Chie! We have worked really hard to practice keeping calm and still and experiencing a different type of sport and exercise that also helps us to keep our minds calm.

Up and Under:

This term in PE Year 1, 2 and 3 have been having our Up and Under mentoring sessions with Mr Peters. Mr Peters helped us to create our dances for the dance festival! He was very good at remembering each class's dance each week!

PE Curriculum:
