Autumn Term 2

PGL residential, hockey, yoga and our yearly Santa Fun Run!

PE lessons this term:

Yoga:

This term Years 3 and 4 have been enjoying yoga with Chie! We have loved recapping poses that we have learnt previously and it also gives us new skills to learn.

Swimming:

Year 4 have continued to enjoy their swimming lessons this term and have shown great progression in their confidence in the water. We have one more term of swimming lessons after Christmas :).

Up and Under:

Years Rec, 1, 2, 3 and 5 have loved having Mr Peters from Up and Under come in to teach them hockey! They loved practising hockey skills and even playing games!

Year 6 PGL

This term Year 6 went to our yearly residential trip to PGL. They experienced many outdoor learning experiences and had a great time challenging themselves! Here are some thoughts from Eagles ...

"I enjoyed PGL as it tested me!"- Bethany

"It was an experience worth waiting for!"- Chloe

"It was a good team building trip."- Sienna

"I loved teamwork and persevering at PGL."- Jai

" I enjoyed the buggy building because it taught us how to build things, and it is useful if you are ever in danger."- Noah

"I enjoyed the things where you had to work together as a team!"- Charlie W

Forest School

People often forget that Forest School is a wonderful contribution to the Physical Education and outdoor learning part of learning. This term Years 3 and 5 have enjoyed building dens, creating nature pictures, picking apples, lighting fires, roasting marshmallows and many more wonderful outdoor activities!

Santa Run:

This term we welcomed back our beloved Santa Fun Run! The whole school enjoyed our santa themed running around the school grounds and got to enjoy a brownie and hot chocolate at the end! Thank you to any parent helpers we had and a special thank you to Mrs McGinn for being a super helper as always! Thank you to any parents that came to watch, join in and to any who donated via the donation buckets! We highly appreciate it! Any of our money raised at this event will be going on much-needed books to go in our school library!

Sports Leaders:

This term our sports leaders have been a massive help! They have helped to arrange sports equipment, helped to set up and run the school Santa Fun Run, have been establishing lunchtime clubs to run next term and have done so very responsibly and respectfully! Well done Sports Leaders!

Star of the week Extra Play time:

As we are a 'Healthy School' here at By Brook, we have chosen to celebrate our 'Star of the Week' children from this term with an extra playtime! At the end of the term Mrs Henshall will be taking those children out for another extra playtime!
