Monday 13th July 2020

Hello HAWKS,

This is the last Sunday evening I shall be uploading home learning for you, and tomorrow will be your last Monday morning as Year 4 learners! As I look back to Week 1, the 23rd March I still have to pinch myself on the journey we have been on together. Because, despite you knowing it, you have lifted my spirits and helped me get through F O U R T E E N weeks of planning learning for you without you sitting in front of me. Every email, every photo, every piece of art work or achievement shared has filled me with pride and made me feel much closer to you, despite us being away from the classroom.

Each and everyone of you has made me smile and your efforts to keep going and fight hard to stay motivated  has made you emotionally stronger and more than ready to face the exciting new challenges of walking though those double doors into Upper Key Stage 2 as Year 5 learners in September.

You will always, always be very dear to my heart. Every class I have ever taught over the last twenty plus years has meaning, but you will have a very special meaning like no other class. Together we got through this very strange period of time, supporting each other and cheering from the sidelines. Be proud of yourselves Hawks on your Year 4  school year. Be proud of the lessons it's taught you and the resilience and strength you've gained.

A huge, huge thank you to all parents, I feel we too have been on quite an emotional journey especially in the early days when you were in such uncharted waters and finding yourselves learning different skills as teachers. I can't thank you enough for your weekly updates, keeping in contact, staying positive, sharing work and sending photos. You too have learnt many many strategies and although I know there will be a thousand "good bits" and some lovely lovely memories made, it's been a massive undertaking with you juggling work and family life.

I feel somewhat emotional tonight as I upload the last "very light touch" piece of home learning, and sign out of Hawks Class for the year 2019-2020.......

BUT, super super excited to see you ALL on Wednesday 15th July!  Please wear school uniform, bring your water bottle and a carrier bag for all your belongings and remember it is absolutely fine and normal to have the collywobbles and feel nervous.

Have a great Monday and Tuesday, keep smiling and I will see you on WEDNESDAY!
