Term 3, Week 3! 24.01.25

In English, we have been looking at expanded noun phrases and coordinating conjunctions. We used the illustrations from ‘Queen Victoria’s Bathing Machine’ to help us create brilliant expanded noun phrases. We really thought about the adjectives we used to make our sentences even better and super sparkly.
We finished our unit on money in maths this week. We had to find change when buying things in a shop and had to solve two-step problems! It was really important that we read the questions slowly and picked out key information, otherwise we missed parts of the problem because there were two things to solve.
The children have loved exploring coding with the Beebots so far in computing. This week we had to predict where we thought the Beebot would move to on the grid from the algorithm given and then programme the Beebot to see if our predictions were correct. One thing we had to keep remembering was to click the X to make sure the previous code was forgotten before putting in new code!
In DT, we were looking at different equipment used to prepare food. We had to think and explore what equipment would be most appropriate to use. Lots of children thought that a grater was only used for cheese, but we discovered that we could also use a grater for carrots and cucumbers.
We loved watching Year 3's class assembly today and finding out lots about their learning. We loved the song they performed with lots of information about the Egyptians!
