Summer 1, week 2
This week we observed the cress and noticed lots of changes. We thought carefully about what plants need to grow and learnt a song to help us remember.
Owls have loved playing in our new garden centre role-play centre. They have been selling seeds, plants and even bouquets of flowers for special occasions.
In maths, we continued patterns beyond 10 and have been counting to 30. We looked for patterns when we wrote the numbers to 30 and represented the numbers with Numicon. Owls loved their problem-solving activity on Tuesday morning with their parents! They worked hard to match up a variety of representations of numbers to 20. Some were quite tricky, but they persevered.
Owls were fantastic at creating their own simple algorithms for planting seeds. We ordered a set of instructions in small teams, and we were so impressed with how they worked together.
On our wellie walk we looked for materials to make tiny bug hotels.
Well done to our star of the week, Sophia! Sophia has been following all of our school promises. Well done!
Have a lovely long weekend
