Hawks week 1

Welcome to Year 4

We’ve had a wonderful first week back in Year 4! Everyone has made such a positive start to the term and shown real commitment to our school promises. It’s been fantastic to see how excited everyone has been to be back and how invested you all are in your learning already.

Well done to Hawks Star of the Week Ellie!

Please remember to read at home at least 5 times a week.

P.E days are: Wednesday and Friday.

This week, we have started to explore our new topics:

  • In English, we wrote about what we did in the summer, revisited some year 3 grammar and built sentences with verbs, adverbs and coordinating conjunctions. We will begin our new English topic next week.
  • In History, we are beginning to think about the impact that the Romans had on Britain.

  • In Science, we asked the big question: Do we all hear the same thing?

  • In Music, we experimented with body percussion, building texture into some musical pieces.

  • In PSHE, we discussed how to keep a positive attitude to our learning and began creating inspirational posters to keep us motivated when things get tricky.

It has been a brilliant start, and we are so excited to see where our learning journey takes us this term. Well done, Year 4 – let’s keep it up! 🎉
