Autumn 1, week 2

Our Owls have started their Sounds-Write journey in phonics. The children have been introduced to their very first sounds: s, a, i, t and m. They have been practising saying the sounds, spotting them in words, and beginning to blend them together to read simple words.

This week, we also spent time talking about feelings. The Owls discussed how to spot when someone else is feeling sad and what we can do to comfort our friends. We were so impressed with the thoughtful and caring ideas they shared.

We have also started learning our Boundaries Song. The Owls already love singing it with their friends and using the actions to help them remember.

On our welly walk, we looked carefully at the world around us and represented the number 3 using natural treasures we found, such as sticks, leaves, and stones. The children worked together brilliantly to make groups of three.

🌟 Star of the Week 🌟
A big well done to Esme! She comes into school every morning with a big smile and has been so kind to her new friends. We are very proud of you, Esme!

Have a lovely weekend
