Autumn Term 1 Week 3

Our class is a family!

This week in PSHE, we discussed how we are all connected. We connected ourselves with a piece of string and passed around compliments. This reiterated that we are all in this class together, and we must look after each other.

In English, we have looked at adjectives and how to describe fire! The children came up with some great words.

In maths, we have been counting forwards and backwards, comparing groups and comparing numbers using the greater than, less than and equal to symbols.

In History, we started our Great Fire of London topic! We looked at a picture of Samuel Pepys and found out that he kept a very important diary. The children designed their front covers for this unit where they included everything they already know.

In science, we distinguish between what a material is and what an object is. The children had to put objects into groups depending on their material.

We were really lucky as in our PE session this week, we had Year 6 taking the lead and teaching KS1 lots of team games that they could play in the future!

In art this week, we have practised our drawing skills! We chose objects and carefully drew them with observations.

Thank you to those of you that came to our Curriculum evening! The link to the presentations, if you missed them, is https://www.bybrookvalleyschool.co.uk/page/?title=%2ACurriculum+Evening%2A&pid=482

Well done on another great week Falcons!
