Autumn 1, week 5

In Sounds Write, we learnt three new sounds: n, p and o. The children have been practising saying the sounds, listening carefully for them in words, and beginning to blend them together to make simple words. We are so proud of the way everyone is joining in and trying their best.

We have also been enjoying our Squiggle While We Wiggle sessions. These are a fantastic way to develop our gross motor skills and help us with our letter formation. The children loved moving to music and making big, sweeping shapes before putting these movements onto paper.

In Maths, we have been exploring the numbers 4 and 5. The children have been finding groups of 4 and 5 around the classroom, representing them in different ways, and enjoying stories all about these special numbers.

As part of our Harvest celebrations, we created beautiful harvest prints using real fruit and vegetables. The children carefully painted and pressed the fruit and vegetables onto paper to make colourful and creative artwork, which we will share at our Harvest Festival.

Finally, a big Well done to our Star of the Week, Navtaj! He has worked so hard on his letter formation and has been following our school promises brilliantly. We are very proud of him.

Have a lovely weekend
