Term 1, Week 6! 10.10.25

Thank you!

Thank you for all your generous harvest donations! The food bank and families that use it will really appreciate it all.

EYFS and KS1 did brilliantly in their harvest festival in Yatton Keynell church. Thank you to all the adults that came and watched, the church was packed! Kestrels were great reading their harvest acrostic poem and all the children sang beautifully.

We supported Hello Yellow for World Mental Health day on Friday. The children came to school with something yellow and we did activities throughout the day about how we can support ourselves and our friends. The children also came home with a wellbeing bingo sheet with lots of activities you can do together as a family. If you would still like to support the charity, you can make a donation on our just giving page: https://fundraise.youngminds.org.uk/fundraisers/bybrookvalley

We also had a Taekwondo workshop which was a great activity linking to mental health and exercise. The children enjoyed learning different kicks, punches and counting to 10 in Korean! Your child came home with a leaflet and a voucher to try a Taekwondo session if they enjoyed it.

Reminders:

  • PE days for Term 1 are Wednesday (gymnastics) and Thursday (team games).
  • Please bring in reading books and reading records every day and read 5 times a week at home. Remember an adult needs to sign the reading records.
  • Spellings will come home on Monday. Please practice these every day at home ready for our spelling test on Fridays.
  • Remember to book a parents' evening time slot or arrange another time if you aren't available.

Have a wonderful weekend!
