Autumn Term 2 Week 1
Scavenger hunt, potion making and bonfire night!
We have been busy in Falcons this week!
We started the week off with an Autumn Scavenger hunt! We explored our schools outside area and ticked off different things that we find in Autumn, such as conkers, mushrooms, apples, leaves and lots more! We then wrote about what changes happen in Autumn in our Science books. We discussed that it gets colder and leaves fall off the trees!

We have enjoyed doing lots of Bonfire night activities this week, such as firework addition, bonfire night writing, firework pictures with glitter and glue as well as making firework rockets out of shapes!

To our surprise, a Wizard visited us this week. He sent Falcons a letter explaining that he needed help fixing his magic potion! Falcons therefore had to follow instructions to make their own potions to help the Wizard! We then wrote about what the potion looked like in our English books! We had to make sure we followed the instructions carefully otherwise it would turn into green slime!

In PE this week, we started hockey! The children have been practising moving in different directions and rolling balls to each other. We have also been practising our balancing and catching skills!

In maths we have been practising our number bonds within 10 and using bar models and part-whole models to help us!
Our new phonics sound is /oe/.
I look forward to another busy and fun week next week Falcons!
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Hamilton :)
