Autumn 2, week 2

Anti-Bullying Week – Odd Socks & Kindness Challenges
We kicked off the week by celebrating Anti-Bullying Week with our bright and brilliant odd socks! The children loved showing off their unique combinations and talked about how our differences make us special. Each day, we challenged ourselves to ‘use our power for good’ by doing one kind act.

Remembrance Day – Learning and Reflecting
On Tuesday, we learnt about Remembrance Day and why it is an important time to remember and reflect. The children created beautiful poppies with great care and pride.

Welly Walk – Pattern Detectives!
During our welly walk this week, we became real-life pattern detectives! The children searched outdoors for natural patterns and then used what they found to create their own repeating patterns. We saw everything from leaf patterns to stone sequences—what brilliant spotters they are!

Literacy – Firework Adjectives
In literacy, we watched a dazzling firework video that lit up our imaginations. The children then used adjectives to describe what they saw—sparkly, loud, colourful, and bright were just a few of the fantastic words they came up with. They enjoyed turning their ideas into full sentences.

Children in Need – Challenge Yourself to 25!
On Friday, we celebrated Children in Need. Reception joined forces with Year 1 and Year 2 to complete some exciting physical challenges as part of ‘Challenge Yourself to 25’. From hopping to balancing, skipping to star jumps—the children gave it their all and had a brilliant time raising awareness for a great cause.

Have a lovely weekend
