Autumn Term 2 Week 4&5

Lots of learning and practising for the Nativity as well as some special visitors!

Last week, we had a very special visit from the firefighters. They taught us all about fire safety and how to keep ourselves safe at home and at school. The best part was getting to explore the fire engine! We even sat inside and looked at all the important equipment they use to help people.

Another visitor came to help us learn how to stay safe when we are out and about. The Walk Safe team showed us how to cross the road carefully, how to use pavements safely, and why it’s important to stop, look and listen. We are now super safe walkers!

In maths, we have been learning all about subtraction. We have tried different methods to help us take away numbers. From using objects and drawings to counting back. Falcons have been brilliant mathematicians!

We have had fun doing lots of role-play to instruct each other on how to brush our teeth properly. We made sure to include time conjunctions and bossy verbs in our instructions.

In DT, we have started designing our very own Tudor houses. We looked carefully at their special features and have begun sketching our ideas. Soon, we will bring our designs to life by making models. We can’t wait to see how they turn out!

We are getting very excited about our Nativity next week. Falcons have been practising so hard, singing beautifully, and working as a team. We can’t wait to show our families and friends.

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Hamilton :)
