Term 3, Week 2! 16.01.26

In English we have been using once upon a raindrop to inspire us to do shared writing about once upon a sunshine. We have used rhyme, alliteration and present progressive tense to describe the sun in our own class version.

We have continued looking at multiplication and division this week and focused on the 10 times tables. We also looked at doubling, halving and odd and even numbers. We have also been focusing on using our mathematical vocabulary to help us explain our reasoning when answering questions to show our understanding.

In computing, we explored do the order of instructions matter? We had different instructions to follow and realised that if the order changed, then the outcome might change too. We created our own algorithm (instructions) using the same 4 commands in a different order and used the beebots to see what would happen!

We learnt another traditional folk song in music this week called Lavenders Blue. We learnt what a phrase is – a musical sentence – and how at the end of a phrase it is a good place to breathe.

The children have remembered lots about the continents and oceans for their geography learning. Ask them to sing the continent song or ocean song to you to showcase their learning.

Star of the Week is….

Jayden. For persevering with his English and Maths this week!
