Spring Term 1 Week 3

Rainy week in Falcons!

In English, we have been exploring what rain is like using our senses. We even went outside in the rain to see what we could see, hear and feel. We used our ideas to make a senses chart and then wrote beautiful poems about the rain. The children tried really hard to include repetition and lots of descriptive words. Everyone did amazing with this!

In Maths, we have been practising our number bonds to 20 using fun rhymes to help us remember them. We have also been learning about doubles. The children loved playing a game to practise recognising doubles and showed great enthusiasm.

In Science, we looked at different types of animals and thought about how we could describe them. We played a fun “Who am I?” game, which helped us think carefully about animal features and descriptions.

In RE, we learned about the Bible story of Zacchaeus. We talked about why Jesus was a good friend and shared our ideas through discussion and writing.

A quick reminder to please try to read at least 5 times a week and continue practising spellings at home. In phonics, we have been practising the /oo/ sound this week.

Have a lovely weekend!
