This week we launched Drawing Club, and the children absolutely loved it! Our story focus has been We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, which has inspired both our writing and our imagination. We have been learning fantastic new vocabulary, complete with actions, which have helped us bring the story to life. The children enjoyed using their creativity to produce wonderful drawings and imaginative sentences linked to the story.

In maths, we have been working hard on solving subtraction word problems within 20. The children have been using a number line to support their thinking and have shown brilliant perseverance when working out answers step-by-step.

Our challenges this week have been linked to both our class book and the weather! The children enjoyed exploring activities inspired by different parts of the story as well as engaging in weather-themed tasks. It has been wonderful to see their independence and enthusiasm in these tasks. 

Our Phonics sound this week is /oo/ and the children's spellings link to this. 

Falcons have been working really hard on their handwriting and letter formations, we are noticing a massive difference!
