Spring 1, week 6
This week in Reception we have been incredibly lucky to welcome lots of our lovely mummies into school to talk about their jobs. The Owls were fascinated to learn all about the exciting world of fashion, amazing safari animals and what it’s like to be a nurse. The children asked some super questions and loved hearing real-life experiences. A huge thank you to all the parents who gave up their time to come and speak to us – we really appreciate it!
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, we had some thoughtful discussions about how we can keep our minds healthy. The children shared wonderful ideas, including talking about our feelings, spending time with friends and family, getting plenty of rest, and doing things that make us happy.
In RE, we learnt about the Hindu festival of Holi. We explored why it is celebrated and what it represents, including joy, colour and new beginnings. The children then created their own bright and colourful celebration paintings inspired by the festival.
A very big well done to our Star of the Week, Poppy! Poppy has been trying so hard with her reading and is always eager to read to an adult. We are so proud of your fantastic effort and enthusiasm – keep it up!
We hope you all have a wonderful and restful half-term.
