Term 4, Week 1! 27.02.26

What a great first week of term 4!

We were very excited to welcome Olympian James to our school. He spoke to us about finding his passion for athletics and sprinting, and how he had to show great determination and perseverance to achieve his goals. Afterwards, the children loved taking part in a short circuit with James doing high knees, press ups, the plank and star jumps.

In Maths, we have been learning all about 2D shapes. We explored the different sides and vertices of shapes and enjoyed identifying and sorting them. The children did a brilliant job using the correct mathematical vocabulary.

In DT, we looked at what makes a healthy balanced plate. We explored the different food groups and talked about how to make healthy choices to keep our bodies strong and energised. We then sorted a variety of foods into their food groups, having discussions with our partners as we did this.

In Worship, we focused on this term’s value of justice. During class worship, we created our own definition of justice and discussed what justice looks like in our school. The children shared thoughtful ideas about fairness, kindness and making sure everyone is treated equally.

We loved watching Year 3's class assembly today and cannot wait to do ours next term!
