Spring Term 2 Week 4

We have had another busy and exciting time in our learning!

In English, we have been exploring the wonderful story Where the Wild Things Are. We used adventurous vocabulary to describe the Wild Things, thinking carefully about their appearance and behaviour. We also showed great creativity when writing exciting openings to our own stories, capturing the reader’s attention right from the start.

This week we had a special Zoom call with the cast of Alice in Wonderland Royal Ballet and Opera. We got to meet the characters and do a dance all together with other schools around the country. It was so much fun and opened our eyes to what ballet is like.

In Maths, we have continued learning about measuring. We have been practising how to use rulers carefully and accurately to measure in centimetres. The children have worked really hard to line up their rulers correctly and read the measurements with confidence.

In Science, we labelled the bones we could remember from last week and then drew ourselves and labelled what parts of the body link to each of our senses.

In Geography, we learned about hot and cold climates. We explored different parts of the world and discussed what it might be like to live in each climate. The children enjoyed sharing their ideas about which climate they would prefer and why.

We have also been practising very hard for our Easter service next week. The children have been putting in lots of effort to learn their lines and songs, and we can't wait to share it with you.

To finish the week, we had lots of fun dressing in something red for Comic Relief. It was lovely to see everyone taking part.

Thank you for another great week, 1 week to go!

Have a lovely weekend.
