Term 5, Week 3! 01.05.26

In English, we have been using the story 'The Queen’s Hat' as inspiration for our own creative writing. The children have come up with some fantastic ideas, imagining what might happen if the Queen lost something very important! Many decided she might lose her handbag, while others thought it would be her favourite corgi. We are looking forward to turning these ideas into our own stories.

In Maths, we have been exploring mass. The children enjoyed using scales to compare different objects around the classroom, deciding which are heavier and lighter. We have also been learning how to read numbered scales to find precise weights and have started solving problems involving mass.

In Science, we have begun an exciting experiment to answer the question: “What happens to plants when they do not get what they need?” We have set up our bean plant investigation and will be observing closely over the coming days and weeks. The children are very excited to see how the plants grow under different conditions!

In Music, we have continued to explore rhythm. The children have been learning how different rhythms can be written down and performed, developing both their listening and musical skills.

In PE, we are really enjoying our yoga sessions. This has been a wonderful way to relax, stretch, and spend some calm time together as a class.

Star of the Week:
