Summer 1, week 4

This week in Reception, we have been learning all about plants! We learnt the different parts of a plant and even learnt a new song to help us remember them. We drew beautiful flowers and carefully labelled the petals, roots, stem and leaves.

During our welly walk, we collected different leaves to use for printing. Back in the classroom, we created our own sunflower prints using bubble wrap and painted leaves to make wonderful patterns and textures.

In Maths, we used Numicon to create pictures by manipulating and rotating the shapes in different ways. We loved being creative while developing our problem-solving skills.

We also had our very first Forest School session with Mr Summers and had so much fun exploring the outdoors and climbing trees. Our favourite part was definitely toasting marshmallows over the fire!

Today, we celebrated the 100th birthday of David Attenborough by learning all about his life during a special assembly.

A huge well done to our Star of the Week, Navtaj! He is always so kind and consistently tries his very best. We are very proud of him!

Have a lovely weekend
