Term 6, Week 3! 19.6.26

In English, we have been focusing on grammar and spelling rules. The children have worked hard to develop their understanding of adding the suffixes -er and -est to root words, using commas in a list and using the possessive apostrophe.

In Maths, we have been practising a range of arithmetic and reasoning questions. The children have shown great perseverance as they applied their mathematical knowledge to solve problems and explain their thinking.

Our Music lessons have been lots of fun this week. We have been learning to read musical notation for "Once a Man Fell in a Well" and enjoyed playing the piece on the glockenspiels. It has been wonderful to see the children developing their musical skills and confidence.

In PSHE, we have been recapping important safety knowledge. We discussed what to do if someone gets hurt, how to get help in an emergency, and ways to stay safe near railways. The children learnt about the different sounds and signs they may encounter around railways and why it is important to understand what they mean.

Unfortunately, Sports Day had to be cancelled due to the rainy weather. We know everyone was looking forward to it, but we were delighted that the children were still able to take part in the Colour Run today. It was fantastic to see everyone having so much fun and enjoying the event together!

Star of the Week:

Sami for AMAZING effort and improvement with his reading at home and in school!
