Term 6, Week 8! 21.07.26
As we reached our final two days in Year 2, we had a fantastic time celebrating everything we had learnt in our history topic: Why was Queen Elizabeth II a significant monarch for the Commonwealth?
We enjoyed learning traditional African dances, listening to music from different Commonwealth countries, and creating Union Jack bunting ready for our special tea party. We also tucked into delicious scones with cream and jam before working in groups to create presentations that showcased everything we had learnt about Queen Elizabeth II. It was wonderful to see the children's confidence, teamwork and knowledge shine through.
Thank you all so much for your thoughtful cards, kind words and generous gifts. They are truly appreciated.
Don't forget to visit your local library and sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, or take part in the By Brook Reading Challenge. I cannot wait to see how many of you complete it!
Wishing you all a wonderful, safe and fun-filled summer. Thank you for a fantastic year, and we will see you all back on Wednesday 2nd September 2026!
