In English, we completed our narratives using UP as our inspiration. The children imagined where their house might land and wrote some fantastic descriptive sentences to bring their ideas to life. We had some wonderfully imaginative settings, with some children choosing an enchanted forest while others travelled to Candy Land. It was lovely to read all of their creative ideas and see the children using descriptive language to help their readers picture their magical worlds.

In Maths, we have continued our work on place value, with a particular focus on tens and ones. We have been practising finding and representing numbers on a number line and thinking carefully about the value of each digit.

For PE, have been working with Mr Peters to create our very own pirate-themed dance. The children have had lots of fun thinking about the different jobs pirates might do and using these ideas to create movements for our dance. We can't wait to see our pirate crew bring the dance to life!

In Science, we have been exploring different materials. We sorted and compared materials according to their properties and talked about what makes different materials suitable for different purposes. The children enjoyed being scientists and sharing their observations.

In Computing, we have been learning about IT – Information Technology. We thought about the different types of IT we have around our school and discussed what each one is used for. The children were brilliant at spotting examples of technology and explaining how they help us.

We have also loved starting to learn our songs for the Harvest Festival! The children have been singing with lots of enthusiasm and are already sounding fantastic. We can't wait to show you what we have been practising next month!
