Autumn 1 Weeks 2 & 3

The past couple of weeks we have enjoyed lots of learning in Year 4.
We have been focusing on place value in maths and have been looking at ordering, comparing and increasing and decreasing numbers. We have also been focusing on securing our arithmetic skills on a Friday.
In writing, we have been developing our ideas for developing our narrative writing ready for our whole school hot write. We have enjoyed experimenting with a variety of vocabulary when describing our characters and settings.
In Geography, we have been focusing on our local area and are looking forward to our walk around the village next week. If you are able to help accompany us on that walk we would highly appreciate any volunteers!
In PE we have been developing our line dancing for our whole school dance festival this term. We have also been working on problem solving and team games with Miss Reed on a Friday.
Star of the week:
This week our star of the week is ... James! James has such a smiley, positive attitude in school which is noticed by all! Well done James!
Things to remember:
- On Tuesday Mrs Thomson will be taking Y4 around the village for a Geography walk. Any parent helpers who are able to accompany us would be highly appreciated!
- Home learning came home in bags today with spelling scores attached.
- Reading 5x per week.
- Reading records and water bottles in school each day please.
Have a lovely weekend! x
