Term 1, Week 5! 02.10.26

We have loved exploring the book Beegu and have been learning about coordinating conjunctions and practising joining two sentences together. We have also been working on using the past tense in our writing. To finish the week, we created our very own alien characters, ready to use next week when we innovate the story. We can’t wait to see where our imaginations take us!

In maths, we have been learning all about making 10 and exploring fact families within 20. We have really enjoyed using ten frames and counters to help us see and represent different number sentences. We have been working hard to explain how the numbers in a fact family are connected.

In art, we have been exploring different types of lines and experimenting with a variety of art mediums. We used pencils, pens, biros and paint to see how each medium can create different effects. We enjoyed discovering the many different ways we can use lines in our artwork.

We have continued exploring call and response in music. This week, we came up with our own responses to different call questions and used the drums to perform them.

A huge thank you to all the families who have donated food for our Harvest food bank collection. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will make a real difference. If you would like a reminder of the items that the food bank currently needs, there is a list displayed on the class window.

Star of the Week!
Imogen for always showing our school promises and always trying her best with everything she does.
