Day 3 at PGL Liddington – Our Final Full Day!

What an incredible final full day we’ve had! The children have truly embraced every challenge and shown amazing teamwork, resilience, and enthusiasm throughout.

Today’s activities were packed with adventure and variety:

• Survivor (Forest Skills): The groups learned essential outdoor skills, from shelter building to fire-lighting techniques, all while working together in the beautiful woodland setting.
• Vertical Challenge: This was a real test of determination as the children climbed a series of obstacles to reach the top. The encouragement they gave each other was fantastic!
• Giant Swing: Lots of laughter (and a few squeals!) as pairs soared through the air on this thrilling ride.
• Fencing: A chance to try something new! The children learned basic techniques and enjoyed some friendly duels.
• Zipwire: Flying through the air with huge smiles – this was definitely a highlight for many!
• Archery: Concentration and precision were key as the children aimed for the bullseye.
• Abseiling: A brilliant confidence-building activity, with everyone showing courage as they descended the wall.

This evening, we wound down with a cozy movie night in our pajamas, complete with plenty of giggles and chatter about the day’s adventures.

   

Tomorrow, each group will take part in one final activity before we say goodbye to Liddington and head home. We can’t wait to share more photos and stories with you soon during our upcoming class assembly!

Day 2 at PGL Liddington – Adventure and Achievement!

Our second day at PGL Liddington began with a hearty breakfast to fuel us for the exciting activities ahead. The children enjoyed a wide choice, including cooked breakfast, cereal, porridge, fresh fruit, and toast – plenty of energy for a day full of challenges!

After breakfast, our three groups headed off to their first sessions. Today’s activities included canoeing, climbing, aeroball, and the sensory trail. Every child showed incredible determination and teamwork, pushing themselves to achieve more than they thought possible. Whether it was balancing on the water, scaling the climbing wall, or navigating the sensory trail blindfolded, the resilience and enthusiasm were inspiring to see.

           

                    

This evening, we’re looking forward to the PGL Challenge, a fun-filled series of games that promise laughter and friendly competition – the perfect way to round off another fantastic day.

We are so proud of how the children are embracing every opportunity and supporting each other along the way. Tomorrow brings even more adventures – stay tuned for our update.

Year 6 Eagles – First Day at PGL Liddington!

What an amazing start to our residential adventure! The children arrived at PGL Liddington full of excitement and energy, ready to take on their first challenges.

As soon as we arrived, we jumped straight into our first activity – either abseiling, archery, or the thrilling vertical challenge. The children showed incredible bravery and teamwork, cheering each other on and pushing themselves to try something new.

After a quick break, we moved on to our second activity, which gave everyone another chance to experience something different and build confidence.

By the time our rooms were ready, we were more than ready to settle in! The children enjoyed unpacking and making their rooms feel like home before heading to the dining hall for a delicious supper. Tonight’s menu offered a choice of macaroni cheese or chicken katsu curry, with plenty of fresh options from the salad bar. To top it off, we all enjoyed a treat – a homemade chocolate brownie for dessert!

Our evening activity was the ever-popular Ambush. We split into two teams – hiders and seekers – and headed into the woods armed with torches. The thrill of running through the dark, trying to outsmart the other team, had everyone laughing and buzzing with excitement.

Now, after a full day of adventure, everyone is tired but happy. The children are settling down for a good night’s sleep and are already looking forward to the exciting activities planned for tomorrow.
