Term 6, Week 7! 17.07.26

We loved spending time in our new classrooms ready for September. The children really enjoyed meeting their new teachers, exploring their new learning environments, and getting a glimpse of all the exciting things to come. We are all feeling very excited for the new school year!

We also had the pleasure of watching the fantastic Year 5 and 6 production. The children were thoroughly entertained and were so impressed by the wonderful acting, singing, and confidence shown by the older pupils. A huge well done to everyone involved—they were amazing!

In History, we completed our unit by answering our big question: 'Why was Queen Elizabeth II a significant monarch for the Commonwealth?' The children drew upon all the knowledge they had built throughout the summer terms to explain why Queen Elizabeth II played such an important role. It was wonderful to see how much they had remembered and how confidently they could share their learning.

In Design and Technology, we finished making our puppets. The children showed fantastic perseverance as they used the running stitch to join their fabric together. They worked carefully and patiently, and the finished puppets turned out brilliantly. We are so proud of their sewing skills and creativity!

We have had such a busy and enjoyable week, and we are looking forward to our final days together before the summer holidays.

Star of the Week:

Theo for persevering when making his puppet in DT.

Reminders:

  • 'Commonwealth Day' on Monday – come to school in blue, red and/or white.
  • The last day of term is Tuesday 21st July 2pm.

Have a wonderful weekend!
