Summer 1 Week 1

This week we welcomed everyone back for our first Summer term! Even though we had a three-day week, Hawks still managed to cram in lots of exciting learning!

We have been recapping our fraction learning in maths to ensure that we really understand being able to convert fractions from improper fractions to mixed numbers and being able to add and subtract fractions too.

In Art this week we finally painted our clay masks that we created last term. We waited for them to dry over the Easter holidays and have now added lots of colour to our Egyptian masks!

We have also started to learn about some new topics in geography and science. This term we are looking at sound in science and 'what is the human impact on Africa?' in geography. We can't wait to learn lots about both of these topics!

In PE this week we have enjoyed getting stuck into our swimming lessons once again. This is our last term of swimming lessons so are making the most of them! We also had a special visitor from Biddestone cricket club come to teach us some cricket skills! We loved being on the field, playing cricket games as a class with Hywel.

Things to remember:

  • This term our PE days are Thursday and Friday (swimming).
  • Next Tuesday is our Linger and Learn maths session.
  • Please bring in reading records each day to school.
  • Water bottles in school each day.

Have a lovely weekend!
