Summer 1 Week 4
This week we have been working hard on planning our hot write for next week. We decided to use our 'catch it' clip as inspiration to innovate our own story. We have decided to keep the plot but change the characters, setting and item that they chase. We will be writing our stories next week and Miss Reed and Miss Davies can't wait to read them! In maths we have been focusing on showing hundreds as decimals, this has then helped us to understand how to divide numbers by 100 using our place value grids.
In Science, we have been looking at pitch and volume and understanding what the difference is between the two. We used instruments to help us understand what volume and pitch are and how they are made. We have loved continuing our computing unit and this week edited the colour of our own images. We are becoming experts at editing images on the ipads! We have also been practising our dances for next week's Chippenham Folk festival! We are excited to go on the last day of term. Cricket in the sunshine was another highlight, thanks to our coach Hywel from Biddestone Cricket club. This week we also enjoyed our last ever swimming session at the Olympiad! We will miss swimming lessons but have made such excellent progress over the three terms of lessons!
Star of the week:
This week's star of the week is ... Frank! Frank has shown such great learning choices and a positive attitude when communicating. Well done Frank!
Parent Helpers Wanted!
Next week we are attending the Chippenham Folk Festival at the Olympiad on Friday (last day of term) and Year 4 need 2 parent helpers to come along with us. If you can come along to help, please let Miss Reed know by next Wednesday! Thank you in advance :).
Things to remember:
- Next Friday is our school trip to Chippenham Folk Festival, and it is also our last day of term!
- We have now finished our swimming lessons and there will be no swimming on a Friday next week or next term.
- Please ensure reading books, reading records, water bottles and sun hats are in each day.
Have a lovely weekend :)
