Very excitingly, today we had James Dasalou visit our school. The children took part in a 10-minute circuit, doing high knees, press-ups, planks and star jumps for 50 seconds a round. The children put their maximum effort into it!
English
We have started our new unit based on The Windmill Farmer, a short video clip that we will be exploring in depth. The children will be focusing on the character of the farmer, thinking carefully about his thoughts, feelings and motivations. Over the coming weeks, they will be retelling the story in their own words, developing their narrative writing skills.
Maths
In maths, we have continued our multiplication and division unit. The children have been using long multiplication and the grid method to solve three-digit by one-digit multiplication calculations. They have also been applying their knowledge to solve two-step word problems, showing resilience and careful reasoning.
Religion and Worldviews (R.W.)
We have started a new topic exploring the question: Is forgiveness always possible for Christians? The class engaged in a very thoughtful and in-depth discussion about Jesus, God and forgiveness, making links to the Easter story and considering what forgiveness means in Christianity.
Science
In science, we have begun our new topic: How can we protect animals’ habitats? The children are already showing great curiosity and are keen to explore how humans can positively and negatively impact the natural world.
Music
