Spring 1 week 1

Happy New Year!

What a brilliant start to 2026 it’s been in Year 3. It was wonderful to welcome everyone back after the Christmas break. The children have settled straight back into routines and shown a fantastic attitude to learning.

In English, we have been exploring similes and rhyming words and sentences. The children have been experimenting with these to help them write their very own dragon poems.

In Maths, we are focusing on multiplication, beginning with the key question: What does it mean to multiply?  The class explored multiplication as repeated addition and began spotting patterns in arrays and groups.

In RE this term, the big question is: What do Christians learn from the Creation Story?
We started by reading and discussing the story itself, thinking about what it teaches Christians about the world, responsibility, and care.

In Science our new topic asks: How does my body stay healthy?
This week we focused on the importance of bones—how they protect us, help us move, and keep our bodies strong.

In Geography, we began our topic: How does the weather impact Florida?
To build on their Year 2 knowledge, we recapped the continents and oceans, then located Florida on the world map and learnt some facts about Florida.

Value of the Term is Perseverance.

Star of the Week is Lucas, who has focused well and given fantastic effort across all subjects. Well done, Lucas!

A massive thank you for all your support with our cake sale on Friday. Your generosity helped us raise money that will go directly towards new books and classroom resources.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Miss Boddy 😊
