Spring 1 Week 2 & 3

A very busy two weeks!

In English, we’ve started our new class book, The Boy Who Biked the World: Part 2, and the children are already enjoying following the next stage of the adventure. Alongside this, we’ve begun a new writing unit on instructions. The class has been exploring imperative verbs and adverbs, learning how these help us give clear, precise directions.

In maths, we’ve been mastering the grid method for multiplication. The children have focused particularly on the 3× and 4× tables and have been applying their problem‑solving skills to break down trickier calculations.

Our geography lessons have taken us on a journey around the globe as we explored the six major climate zones. We then focused on Florida, comparing its climate to others and discussing what makes it unique. T

In science, we have been learning about the bones in the human body, identifying key skeletal features and understanding the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates. This week, we moved on to muscles, exploring how they help us move, stay strong, and support our bodies.

In RE, we’ve been focusing on The Creation as part of our Christianity topic. The children have reflected on the story of Adam and Eve, thinking about themes such as responsibility, choices, and caring for the world.

Our PSHE lessons have centred on dreams and goals. The children have been discussing what they hope to achieve, the steps they might take, and how to stay motivated when things feel challenging.

This term in PE, we are focusing on teamwork and the children have been working together to design and create their own games, showing fantastic cooperation and creativity. So far, they’ve built target games with obstacle courses, and they’ve loved testing out each other’s ideas.

The star of the week last week was George and the star of the week this week Millie. Well done to you both!

Please can you continue to read 5 times a week with your child and practice Times Table Rockstars.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Miss Boddy 😊
