Spring 2 week 1

Ospreys has had a great week back!

It has been great being back with the children and they have all settled back into school routines.

We started our week thinking about our goals at school for this term. The children wrote down three goals on a star which will be put up in the classroom.

In English we started our new topic on non-chronological reports. So far we have looked at the features and layout and have started doing research on pelicans for our report, which also links to our Geography topic on Florida.

In maths we have continued with division and have been learning a new method, short division method or bus stop method. The children have worked hard to learn this. They have also been practising their times tables on TT Rockstars.

In Geography we have been learning about hurricanes and the impact they have on Florida. Ask the the children if they can remember any interesting facts that we learnt.

We are learning about rocks in science theis term and investigating if they are the same or different. This week we looked at different rocks and described thier texture, appearance and colour.

In Religion and Worldviews we were talking about the main days in Holy Week and what the significance is for these days for Christians.

Ospreys were amazing in their class assembly this afternoon. They had worked very hard to prepare and I am very proud of them all.

Next week is World Book week and we have lots of activities planned all week.

Please can children bring in their book in a box by Tuesday.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Miss Boddy :)
