Term 6, Week 2! 13.06.25

Thank you to the adults that came to our Science Linger and Learn. We loved having you join in with our investigation on 'what activity makes our heart rate faster?'

In English, we completed writing a part of a narrative for our whole school hot writes! The childre tried really hard to include all the different points in our year 2 checklist to show off everything they have learnt so far this year.

In computing, we looked at self-image and identity in our online safety sessions. Then we moved onto starting our new unit on programming. We started by recapping features and making sequences on ScratchJr. Then we looked at how sequences can have the same outcome by putting the same commands in different orders.

We had another visit from The Bumbles of Honeywood programme and Castle Combe Circuit. This workshop focused on friendship and the core skills of teamwork, determination, leadership and problem-solving. Kestrels are excited about their next session when they are in year 3.

To end our week, we had a great trip with year 1 and reception to Weston-Super-Mare. This linked to our geography learning this term, and it was great to hear the children discussing with each other about how it is a coastal town and comparing it to Yatton Keynell!
