Term 6, Week 3! 20.06.25

What a busy week we have had in the sunshine!

We loved taking part in Sports Day on Wednesday. The children showed great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Well done to everyone for taking part and well done Castle Combe house for winning.

Another exciting thing we had this week was a live performance by Alain Rouamba. Alain showed us traditional West African instruments and performed different rhythms and songs. He taught us a traditional song to sing with him, a call and response clapping rhythm, and some children got to play a drumming rhythm with him in front of the whole school! The children loved this live music experience and sang the songs all afternoon.

We also had paralympian Stephanie Millard visit us to share how she achieved her dreams after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She shared how she achieved her medals at the London Olympics and Rio Olympics and reminded children to keep dreaming big. Kestrels loved talking with Stephanie, asking her lots of questions and seeing/holding her medals and Olympic torch.

To end our week, we took part in The Colour Run! The children loved taking part, going through the different obstacles and getting covered in the coloured powered paint!
