Term 1, Week 7! 17.10.25

We had our third sesson with The Bumbles of Honeywood and George from Castle Combe Circuit on Tuesday. The focus was on Teamwork and the children learnt skills and the importance of working together to complete a task.
The children loved our science experiment this week. We were investigating what material is best for a bucket - inspired by our Great Fire of London learning. The children tested out paper, fabric, and leather. They made predictions using their knowledge of properities of materials to help them and then created a fair test to test the materials out!
In art, we explored collaging and had a go at cutting and ripping different paper type materials to create a collage of Big Ben. The children loved finding the right bit of paper they wanted for the collage and creating different textures with the paper. We also used water colours to create a sky background, ready to collage a London Skyline onto them next week!
We have continued to look at instructions and featurse of instructions. We have looked at imperative verbs, time conjunctions and adverbs this week. Then we followed a recipe today to make apple cakes with the apples that grow on the school grounds!
Star of the Week is….
Esme! For always demonstrating the schools promises and being a great role model to her peers.
