Term 4, Week 4! 20.03.26
In Maths, we began our new topic on statistics. The children explored tally charts and pictograms, learning how to draw them and, importantly, how to interpret the information they show. They did a fantastic job asking and answering questions about data.
In English, we focused on the suffixes -ment, -ness and -less. The class enjoyed exploring how these endings change the meaning of root words and had a go at using them in their own writing.
Our Science learning took us outdoors as we explored the school grounds in search of microhabitats. We discussed how different plants and animals depend on each other within their habitats, and the children loved discovering minibeasts in their natural environments.
In Music, we listened to and compared different pieces (Mars, Jupiter, Uranus), focusing on dynamics (how loud or quiet the music is). The children responded creatively by drawing pictures to represent what they heard, showing changes in dynamics through their artwork.
In RE, we continued learning about parables, focusing on The Lost Son and Jonah. We discussed what these stories teach us about God and the important messages behind them.
We have also been working very hard preparing for our Easter service, which we are excited to share with you next week. We hope you can come along and enjoy it with us.
Today, we celebrated Red Nose Day by wearing something red to school—thank you so much for your generous donations!
