Term 5, Week 4! 08.05.26

In English, we have continued looking at The Queen’s Hat and writing our own exciting versions of the story. The children worked incredibly hard to include lots of grammar from our Year 2 list, such as expanded noun phrases, conjunctions and punctuation. We were so impressed with their creativity and effort!

In Maths, we have been exploring capacity and volume. The children enjoyed investigating different containers and trying to order them from the smallest to the biggest capacity. Some of the results really surprised us, and we had lots of fun testing our predictions!

In Science, we continued our plant experiments. We carefully observed how the plants had changed after a week without one important thing needed to keep them healthy. The children loved checking the results and discussing what had happened and why.

During Key Stage 1 worship, we reflected on the value of service. The children created an acrostic poem using the word “SERVICE,” thinking carefully about all the ways we can help and care for others and why.

Star of the Week:

Ffion! For great effort and improvement with her handwriting.
