Term 5, Week 5! 15.05.26

In English, we have been getting creative and using our imaginations to inspire our writing. We used a range of interesting pictures to help us think of ideas and then worked hard to include features from the Year 2 writing checklist to show off our fantastic writing skills. We have been so impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and creativity!
In Maths, we have focused on arithmetic skills and telling the time. The children have been practising reading o’clock, quarter past and quarter to times confidently. Please continue to practise telling the time at home whenever possible.
During Computing, we became quiz creators using Scratch Jr! The children designed and created their own quizzes and learnt the importance of debugging algorithms when things did not work as planned. We were very impressed with their perseverance and problem-solving skills.
In Art, we explored clay and experimented with different techniques to shape, carve and join clay together. The children loved getting hands-on and creating their own clay pieces.
In Science, we are enjoying observing our plants and learning about what plants need in order to grow healthy and strong. The children have loved watching the changes happen over time.
We joined Joe Wicks for a live workout lesson linked to Mental Health Awareness Week. We discussed how moving our bodies helps to keep both our minds and bodies healthy and happy.
We ended the week with lots of fun during ‘Flip It Friday’ and are very proud to have raised lots of money for the school. Thank you for all of your support!
Star of the Week:
Bill for great reasoning and problem-solving in maths!
