Term 5, Week 6! 22.05.26
In Maths, we continued learning about time and focused on reading clocks using 5-minute intervals around the clock. The children worked really hard to tell the time accurately and are becoming much more confident. Please continue practising reading analogue clocks at home with your child to help build their confidence even further.
In English, we have been focusing on SPaG-style questions to recap previous learning. The children have been revisiting punctuation, grammar and spelling rules and have shown great determination when answering.
In History, we learnt about the different parts of a coronation and why each part is important. The children loved watching clips from the coronations of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III, spotting the different sections and special objects we had discussed in class. It was lovely to see their enthusiasm and curiosity during our discussions.
In Science, we finished our experiment exploring what happens when plants do not get what they need to survive. The children were very surprised by some of the results and enjoyed discussing why the plants changed in different ways. They showed excellent scientific thinking when sharing their observations.
In Art, we explored printing into clay by pressing different leaves into the surface to create patterns and textures. The children produced some beautiful natural designs and really enjoyed this creative activity.
