Term 6, Week 4! 26.06.26

What a fantastic week we have had in Year 2! The children have worked incredibly hard and have coped so well with the extreme heat. We are very proud of their positive attitudes and resilience.
In English, we have been learning about recounts. Using a model text, we explored the key features of a recount and discussed what makes them effective. This will help us when we begin writing our own recounts about our trip to Westonbirt!
In Maths, we have been recapping how to add two 2-digit numbers. We have been using Base 10 equipment to support our understanding, particularly when we need to exchange 10 ones for 1 ten.
In Art, the children designed their own animals made from recycled bottles. They showed lots of creativity, and we are looking forward to bringing their designs to life next week!
In Music, we continued learning about pitch patterns in our song, Once a Man Fell in the Well. The children worked hard to complete three-lined notation by filling in the missing notes and are becoming much more confident reading simple musical notation.
The children have also been very sensible and asking great questions during our RSHE lessons this week.
Star of the Week:
Evie for AMAZING effort and improvement with his reading at home and in school!
