Term 1, Week 7! 16.10.26

This week, we have been researching and finding out all about Marcus Rashford for Black History Month. We discovered how he has helped people in his community through his generous actions. We learnt about his work to provide “in a box” support for people experiencing homelessness and how he has helped families who need extra support with food during the school holidays. Marcus Rashford inspired us to think about how we can make a difference in our own community. We shared our ideas and created colourful posters to show how we could help others. We realised that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!

In Maths, we have been practising adding and subtracting to the next ten and crossing a ten. We have used number lines and our knowledge of number bonds to help us work out our answers. We are becoming more confident at choosing strategies to solve problems and explaining our mathematical thinking. Keep practising those number bonds, Year 2!

We had a wonderful time outdoors during our worship this week. We worked together to tidy up our outdoor space and planted bulbs and plants to help make our surroundings beautiful. We talked about how thankful we are for the amazing world God has given us and why it is important to look after it. We thought about all the little things we can do to care for our planet, from helping to tidy up to planting flowers and looking after nature.

Our special message this week was:

“If everyone does their bit, it all adds up.”

We learnt that when we all work together, our small actions can make a big difference — whether we are helping someone in our community or caring for God's wonderful creation.

Star of the Week!

Theo for great improvement and enthusiasm in his phonics and maths learning.
