What a busy week in Owls!

This week we planted sunflowers and discussed what they needed to grow. We compared the sunflower seeds with the cress seeds and predicted if they would grow bigger or smaller than the cress. Owls followed a set of instructions to plant the sunflowers. We identified the bossy words and then wrote our own instructions. 

In maths, we sang lots of subtraction songs. Our favourite song was 10 green bottles! Owls used counters and ten frames to represent subtraction stories. The children then wrote the corresponding number sentences!

We celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day on Thursday. Owls made bunting, flags and enjoyed watching videos about the event.
