Summer 2, week 4
Phonics
This week in Sounds, we learnt our new digraph ‘wh’. The children loved spotting ‘wh’ words in stories and around the classroom — ask your child if they can find any ‘wh’ words at home too!
Literacy
In Literacy, we innovated the traditional tale Jack and the Beanstalk. The children used their wonderful imaginations to change parts of the story and then wrote their own versions. It was fantastic to see their ideas come to life!
Art Week
For Art Week, we focused on junk modelling. The children created some amazing animal models using recycled materials. It was brilliant to see their creativity!
Maths
In Maths, we recapped our 3D shapes. We named their properties, such as edges, faces, and vertices, and enjoyed spotting 3D shapes in our classroom and outdoor area.
Assembly Reminder
Please remember to practise your lines for our assembly at home. We can’t wait to share it with you all soon!
Well done to our star of the week, Belle! Belle is always so kind and always follows our school promises.
Have a lovely weekend
