Autumn 2, week 4
A Mystery Box Delivery!
We began the week with a very mysterious surprise… a special box delivered straight to our classroom! Before opening it, the children used their prediction skills to guess what might be inside. To help inspire our thinking, we read Dear Zoo and talked about the animals and clues in the story.
Marvellous Maths
In maths, we focused on addition. The children practised adding two groups together and even wrote their own number sentences. Owls really impressed us with how confidently they used the plus and equals signs. During Busy Bee time, many children chose to keep practising—writing sums on the teacher board and creating chalk addition problems outside.
RE – The Christmas Story
In RE, we recapped the Christmas story and talked about the characters in the nativity. The children thought carefully about gifts they would like to give each character. Their ideas were thoughtful, kind and sometimes wonderfully imaginative. It was lovely to hear how much they remembered about the story.
Have a lovely weekend
