What an exciting week we’ve had in Owls!

This week we began exploring the story of The Gingerbread Man, and the children absolutely loved retelling different parts of the tale. They worked incredibly hard to make their very own gingerbread men.

However… on Friday, something very mysterious happened! All of our gingerbread men vanished! We were sent a video revealing that the culprits were none other than lots of cheeky gingerbread people who had run away. The children were shocked and delighted in equal measure, and we’re planning to investigate further next week to try and get them back!

In Maths, we focused on the number 8. Owls enjoyed drawing different representations of 8 and using the part–part–whole model to show how numbers can be split. They even had a go at writing their own number sentences!

During Squiggle While You Wiggle, we have been practising the correct formation of the letter ‘a’. The children put in so much effort.

Finally, a huge well done to our Star of the Week, Dakota! She has tried incredibly hard with her reading and is always so kind to others. We are very proud of you, Dakota! 

We’re looking forward to another exciting week ahead—especially as we continue our gingerbread investigation!
