Spring 1, week 4
This week we read the story Somebody Swallowed Stanley. The children loved the story and had some brilliant discussions about looking after our planet. We created eye-catching posters to remind everyone not to litter.
To put our learning into action, we also went on a litter pick in our outdoor area. The children worked together beautifully and were very proud to help tidy up our space.
In Squiggle While You Wiggle, we took our learning outside! Using chalk and paint, we practised forming the letters h, n and m on the playground. It was lots of fun making big movements while developing our early writing skills.
We explored different types of materials, sorting them carefully and talking about where they belong. The children also enjoyed playing a recycling game, helping them learn how to look after our environment.
In maths, we read the story Simon Sock and used it to help us make pairs. We also learnt about odd and even numbers and enjoyed investigating doubles, using practical resources to support our understanding.
We have loved watching birds in our outdoor area and learning more about them. To help our feathered friends, we even made bird feeders, which are now hanging outside. The children were very excited to see if any birds would come to visit!
Have a lovely weekend
