Spring 1, week 5
This week we started Drawing Club, and the children absolutely loved it. We read the story Not Now, Bernard and explored some brilliant new vocabulary, including ignore, chomp, destroy, and fearsome. The Owls drew wonderful pictures inspired by the story and even wrote secret codes using their magic wands (pencils). Their imaginations and enthusiasm have been amazing to see!
In Maths, we explored and compared length. After reading Superworm, the Owls did a great job creating long and short worms. They enjoyed talking about their creations and comparing sizes using mathematical language.
We also talked about why brushing our teeth is important and learnt a fun song to help us remember how to keep our teeth healthy. Lots of big smiles and great singing!
We had a very special treat later in the week when some special visitors came to our class. They taught us a Chinese story, showed us some Chinese writing, and even cooked delicious noodles for us to try. The children were so excited and loved learning about a different culture.
Well done to Dotty, our Star of the Week! Dotty has loved Drawing Club and we are so proud of her writing and fantastic effort. Keep it up, Dotty!
Have a lovely weekend
